Female police officers in Chennai displayed a unique and innovative of spreading awareness about the pandemic on May 9. About seven police officers were seen performing for the public on Chennai Central Station in full protective gear. They chose the song Enjoy Enjaami, a popular Tamil song written by Arivu and sung by Dhee. The songwriter had said that the song is about one's connection to their roots. It is about the sweat and blood of our ancestors who worked in the forests.

The video was shared by the Press Information Bureau of Tamil Nadu on May 9. The video also showed many people gathered around to watch the police officers perform. The scattered crown also had other police officers who were also wearing gloves and masks.

The video has so been watched by five thousand people and has garnered about five hundred likes so far. Many people applauded the effort of the Chennai police as they called it a "sweet gesture".

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has now announced a complete lockdown in the state from May 10 to May 24. This came after the state continued to report a rise in the number of fresh COVID-19 cases every day. On May 10, the state reported 29,000 cases out of which, 7,149 were fresh cases from Chennai.
