Chanho minor girl rape case comes as yet another case of crime against young girls. A minor girl in Chanho, a village in Ranchi, Jharkhand was allegedly abducted and raped by three men. The raging incident forces us to rethink the condition of women and children in our society.
The Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO) cases are increasing at an alarming rate. In a society that is already dealing with its shortcomings when it comes to women safety, another heart-wrenching case of rape of a minor girl in Ranchi is making headlines.
Chanho Minor Girl Rape Case
On January 16, three men allegedly abducted a minor girl in Chanho, Ranchi. They reportedly took her to a lonely and secluded place where they allegedly raped her on knife point. The three accused were arrested on January 17 and case had been filed against them. Ranchi police has also stated that SIT is constituted in the Chanho minor girl rape case and further investigation is awaited.
The case is a clear indication of what society we live in. Our society has definitely progressed, backwards. We are standing in a much worse situation with every passing day. There are rape cases of 5 year old, 12 year old, 16 year old and even 6 month old girls. Have we really lost all our sanity as humans? Is this what the smartest animals on Earth evolved to become?
We need to wake up to the harsh reality of the world and understand that nothing is going to change without each and every person's efforts. We need awareness, strict actions and reforms in our believes and up bringing in order to create a safe place for women. Because if women are not safe, we are failing as a society and as humans.
