Cops Solve Case of Headless Woman Body

- The police reported that the beach cleaning crew assigned to maintain cleanliness on the beach discovered a suspicious bag around 8 a.m. on Friday, June 2.

- They promptly alerted the Uttan coastal police station. Upon arriving at the scene, the police discovered the headless body of a woman inside the bag.

- The body had been severed into two parts, and the woman's left arm bore tattoos depicting a trident (trishul), a pellet drum (damru), and the sacred syllable "Om" in Hindi. The woman was dressed in a maroon-coloured t-shirt with the phrase "Be Yourself" printed on it.

- Special teams consisting of the Uttan, Navghar, and Kashimira police's crime detection units were assembled to solve the case, operating under the supervision of DCP (Zone I) Jayant Bajbale, newly appointed ACP Deepali Khanna, and senior police inspector Dadaram Karande.

- Through the process of identifying the tattoo artist involved, the teams successfully established the identity of the deceased woman as Anjali Mintu Singh (23), a resident of Naigaon (east).

- Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of her spouse, Mintu Rambrj Singh (31), as he was preparing to board an outstation train from Dadar railway station on Friday night of June 9. Mintu admitted to committing the murder at 4 p.m. on May 24, following a heated argument related to an extramarital affair.

-With the assistance of his older brother, Chun Chun Rambrij Singh (35), Mintu Singh resorted to disposing of the headless body by placing it inside a bag and casting it into the sea.

- Following the murder and disposal of the body, Mintu Singh left his 14-month-old daughter at her maternal grandmother's residence in Nepal. Subsequently, he returned to retrieve his belongings, as disclosed by an official familiar with the ongoing investigation.

- However, the severed head and the knife employed in the crime are still outstanding and have not been located.

The two accused, who are employed as security guards and originally from Sitamarhi city in Bihar, have been apprehended and charged under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offense) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Uttan coastal police station. Ongoing investigations are being conducted to gather more information on the case.
