The court granted bail to the accused citing that they were first-time offenders and that the continued imprisonment is taking a toll on their health. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Delhi, KPS Malhotra told the media that the trial court had relied upon the evidence against the accused persons and "no shortcoming in the investigation was pointed out," he said.

The court, while giving the bail, established a set of conditions that both the accused will be required to abide by. They have been constrained from contacting the witness and have been asked to keep their mobile phone switched on. They also need to provide their current location as and when demanded by the Investigating Officer.

As per the bail conditions, Thakur and Bishnoi are also not allowed to leave the country and will be required to make their presence as and when called in by the court. These strict regulations, according to the court, are to ensure that the accused do not tamper with the evidence in connection with the case.

Bulli Bai creator Neeraj Bishnoi was arrested from Assam by the Delhi Police on January 6 this year. The 21-year-old is a BTech student from Vellore Institute of Technology, Bhopal. Upon his arrest, he revealed that he had been in touch with the creator of Sulli Deals app and used to connect with him via group chats. The two apparently never met and Bishnoi allegedly didn't even have Thakur's contact number.

The Sulli Bai creator Aumkareshwar Thakur, a 25-year-old resident of Indore in Madhya Pradesh, was arrested on January 8 for creating the app on Github. This app dates back to July 2021, when the photos of several Muslim women were uploaded with the caption, "Deal of the day." He was registered under section 354A (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
