London-based designer creates a million-dollar wedding cake

A London-based designer Debbie Wingham has done wonders by designing a ‘record-breaking’ wedding cake worth 1 million dollars. It is in the shape of a stunning six-foot tall life-sized bride.

Wingham posted the pictures on her Facebook page, unveiling a 6 feet tall wedding cake at a wedding show in Dubai. The cake weighs a massive 120 kg and is entirely edible.

Wingham has given it a shape of a traditional Arabic bride, glamorizing with five three-carat white diamonds, each valued at £200,000. The cake is further embellished with smaller stones on the head-dress.

According to reports, the cake is shaped in the form of a bride wearing a hijab, engagement ring, lace. The floral detail on the dress was pre-baked in Raffles Dubai. It took her 10 days to bake and decorate the cake.

It is prepared using ingredients including 1,000 eggs, 20 kg of chocolate and 50 kg of lace-textured fondant. With diamonds to make it bright as an actual bride, it was also decorated with 1,000 pearls and 5,000 hand-cut flowers.

Wingham, 36, runs a baking business called Couture to Cakes. Moreover, the company currently has a waiting list for the next six months. Debbie is an artist with international acclaim and also holds the record for making the world’s most expensive cake,  as per The Sun.

From the cake bride’s lace-textured dress, edible pearls and iced flowers, the elaborate six-foot tall dessert weighs over 220 pounds, and took more than 10 days to create. More than 5000 flowers, 1000 pearls, 110 pounds of fabric-like fondant and “five flawless three-carat white diamonds all valued at $200k each, along with VVS1 smaller stones,” which is the only portion of the cake that is inedible, the cake is a life-size masterpiece.
