Is Brian Laundrie Dead? Human Remains Found In Florida Park

Brian Laundrie Dead? Laundrie family attorney Steven Bertolino told CNN’s Chris Cuomo that the human remains found in Florida Park most likely belong to Laundrie.

“Probability is strong,” the lawyer said. A notebook and a backpack that belonged to Laundrie were also found in the park. However, they are going to wait for the forensic results to confirm. Laundrie’s parents, Chris and Roberta were also present in the park on Wednesday when the finding was made. Earlier, on September 17 Brian's parents registered a missing person report after he failed to return home after going for a hike in the park.

The human remains were found near Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park and adjoining Carlton Reserve. “This is the very area of the park that we initially informed law enforcement on, I believe it was Sept. 17, that Brian would be most likely in the preserve in this particular area,” the lawyer said. He added that Brian’s parents are “heartbroken” over the latest developments.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had issued an arrest warrant against Laundrie in connection with an alleged debit card fraud. Laundrie was called a “person of interest” in the missing and subsequent homicide case of social media influencer Gabby Petito. Petito's remains were found in a Wyoming National Park on September 19. She was 22. An autopsy was conducted on September 21. It confirmed her identity and ruled her death as a homicide.

Petito ran a channel named “Nomadic Statik”. They embarked on a four-month-long cross country trip from New York in July this year. The couple planned to vlog their travels which allegedly fuelled tensions between them.
