Apart from directing the UP Police to provide then with adequate protection, the court also declared their marriage as valid. The couple’s counsel claimed that Ajitesh was beaten up and there was also an attempt to kidnap him from outside the Allahabad HC when the couple arrived at the court today morning.

The duo garnered lime light by expressing their fear from the girl’s father and his friends for getting married to a man from another caste. They shared a video last week in which the girl had claimed that they are receiving death threats from her father, brother and an associate for getting married to a man outside her caste. She also said in the video that she is now happy and that her father and the others should stop harassing them and the boy’s relatives. The video then went viral and since then there has been a constant tug of war between Sakshi’s father and the couple.

As the couple reached the court today early morning around 8.30, there were also reports of them being arrested from outside the court by armed persons, as per eye witnesses. However, it was clarified later that the couple was present in the court. However, their counsel told the court that there were some people who roughed them up outside the court before the hearing could begin.

Eye-witnesses have claimed that young couple was seen waiting outside the court gate No.  3, early in the day when a black SUV came and pulled in the couple at gunpoint. The SUV bore the registration number UP80 which belongs to Agra district. Sources said that 'Chairman' was written on the rear of the vehicle.

Sakshi who is 23 years old and belongs to Bithari Chainpur in Bareilly married 29 years old Ajitesh after running away from their families a week back. Finally they revealed in a video message that they posted on social media that they have in fact gotten married and want to live happily together without the interference of Sakshi’s father, who according to them, has been harassing them and Ajitesh’s relatives for some time now. While Sakshi hails from a Brahmin family, Ajitesh is from a Dalit family which has created a rift among the girl’s family.

Reports say that the couple got married on July 4 at the Ram Janki Temple but the priest refused to accept that he solemnized the wedding. There are speculations that the couple’s marriage certificate going viral on social media is also fake.
