The epic struggle between two men on opposing sides of the law—one a feared gang leader and the other a fiercely honourable Indian Police Service officer—is the subject of the television series Khakee: The Bihar Chapter. The series is inspired by Lodha's 2018 book Bihar Diaries, which captures his chase of the gang.

Who is Amit Lodha?

Amit Lodha is a graduate of the IIT and was born in Jaipur, Rajasthan. In his first attempt, he succeeded at IIT. He then decided to change his life away from IIT and focus on studying for the UPSC exams. He joined the IPS in 1988, and Rajasthan was the location of his initial posting. According to a Hindustan Times report, Lodha gained popularity right away because he advised people to call him on his landline number.

In addition to the Bihar Diaries, he also wrote Life in the Uniform: Adventures of an IPS Officer in Bihar, which was published in 2021. Throughout his career, he received honours such as the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service, the Police Medal for Valor, and the Internal Security Medal for a number of his operations.
