A Chapra civil surgeon opened up about the situation in the district. The surgeon said that they admitted all the children of the remand home to the hospital, as soon as the news about the COVID-19 infection spread.
According to the data released by the Health Department on Sunday evening, there are over 1526 active COVID-19 cases in the district. About 65 people have died because of the infection in the district.
Earlier, the Nitish Kumar-led government announced a night curfew. Besides that, an order was passed to shutdown schools and other educational institutions in the state till May 15. Also, the postponement of exams had also been decided. However, Bihar Police recruitment examinations are excluded from the purview of this order.
On Sunday, Nitish Kumar held a meeting with the Crisis Management Group on Sunday. He said that parks, malls, gardens, cinema halls, etc. would be closed in the state till May 15. Government offices would be closed by five o'clock. All the shops in the state will be closed at 6 o'clock instead of 7 o'clock, and home delivery will be available till 9 pm. Also, the restriction on the closure of places of worship has been extended to May 15 instead of April 30.
Meanwhile, Delhi has imposed a lockdown lasting for a few days. The Arvind Kejriwal government announced a lockdown lasting till April 26. Only essential services will be there.
