Bhopal Minor Girl Gangrape :Three persons have been arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl in Bhopal. One of the accused is a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) whose membership has been cancelled. Another accused member is also a functionary of the Janata Dal (United), identified as Dinesh Awadhiya.

According to an ANI report, the minor had come to Bhopal from Haryana. The 16-year-old girl is a resident of Palwal district in Haryana. She had fled from home after a tiff she had with her family. She boarded a train to Agra, where she met two women from Bhopal ; Seema and Parul. The girl revealed to them that she was going to Mumbai in search of employment. On hearing this, the two women promised to arrange a much better job for her in Bhopal. Going by their words, she accompanied them to Bhopal.
The two women pushed her into prostitution and locked her in a room in Ashoka Garden area of Bhopal. She was first raped by a man at a hotel in Ashoka Garden area and later by three men from Dindori district at a hotel in Bhopal's TT Nagar area. Bhopal superintendent of police Sai Krishna Thota said that action was taken based on footage from the hotel, as per reports.
"The arrested trio has been booked for rape under IPC section and also under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act 2012," additional SP (ASP-Bhopal) Rajesh Bhadoriya told The New Indian Express.
In March this year, a minor girl was allegedly raped by two people in the Muzaffarpur district’s Bochaha area. In another incident, a cleric of Delhi mosque was arrested on the grounds of alleged rape of a minor girl. The girl had alleged that she had gone to the mosque to fetch water.
