However, she recorded the crime on her camera, and then people believed her claims. She revealed she did not feel safe there. There were about 200 onlookers at the site of the incident. The support from the crowd was provided only after she had proof.

Video Sparks Mixed Reactions: Victim Branded 'Drama Queen' as North-South Divide Debate Erupts Online

While some netizens expressed their concerns about women's safety in big cities, some commented on the 'North-South' divide, rising Northerners in Bengaluru, and even went ahead to accuse the victim of over-exaggeration.

A netizen quoted, "What's worse is the local people in comments justifying the act and arguing it's fake and bringing in the language angle I myself am a Kannadiga and I am ashamed to see that we have such perverts hiding in plain sight and acting all chauvinistic. It's a sorry state"

Another quoted, "Not justifying. But calling out her malice in such incidents. Coz psychological manipulation is what she is doing, when it comes to video not capturing what happened after the grab, the tears, and her inappropriate attire. When she has wronged in so many ways, how to trust her? This is a small band of the larger spectrum where women revel in the attention, sympathy, sense of importance, and pedestalization by civic society & municipal authorities (including police) they receive. Popularised to the extent breeding narcissism & apathy toward male population including from family"

To this another netizen replied, "Wait, Inappropriate attire, that's really what you said, so if a girl wears something that's not appropriate based on your pervert mindset then it's inappropriate, that's your justification when women are raped, they are harassed and abused, grow up man it's 2024."

The now-viral Twitter post has garnered mixed reactions from netizens. In a follow-up video, Biswal mentioned that Bengaluru Police had taken note of the incident. The police are checking CCTV footage to identify the accused minor.
