5-Year-Old Becomes The World's Youngest Female To Publish A Book

Bella J Dark from Weymouth in the UK is the world's youngest female to publish a book. She is 5 years and 211 days old. Her book is titled The Lost Cat and it tells the tale of Snowy, a cat who gets lost after venturing outside alone at night.

• Bella's book was published on 31 January 2022 by Ginger Fyre Press.
• It has sold over 1,000 copies so far and is available at Waterstones and Amazon for £6 ($7.27).
• In an interview, she revealed that she got the idea for The Lost Cat from one of her drawings.
• “It started off as a picture. My daddy said I could make a book and a story came from the picture.”, she said.
• Her mother revealed that she had a great imagination and has been writing short stories since she was three. Her mother said that she wasn't surprised at all when she started writing a book. 
• She wanted to be eligible for the Guinness World Records title. For that, her book had to be published by a commercial publishing house and at least 1,000 copies had to be printed and sold.
• The mother helped her daughter meet a publisher at a book fair and in no time, the sales figure was increasing. Bella was officially confirmed as the world's youngest published author.
• She wants to inspire other young writers through her work. What is her advice for them? Her advice to aspiring authors is to “write a story that comes from you.”
• She has already started working on the sequel to Snowy's story.
