Bajrangi Bhaijaan Fame Harshaali Malhotra Gets Bharat Ratna Dr Ambedkar Award

Actor Harshaali Malhotra was awarded the Bharat Ratna Dr Ambedkar Award on January 9, 2022, by the Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

Malhotra on receiving the award shared many pictures from the sets of Bajrangi Bhaijaan with actor Salman Khan, director Kabir Khan, casting director Mukesh Chabra and other cast and crew members. The actor also thanked Salman Khan and Kabir Khan and wrote, "This award is dedicated to @beingsalmankhan @kabirkhankk @castingchhabra uncle for believing in me And for full @Bajrangibhaijaan team. Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar national award from shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari (Governor of Maharashtra) (sic)."

The film gained massive popularity for Harshaali Malhotra at the time of its release in 2015. She played the role of a Pakistani child who had lost her way home. She ends up with Salman Khan's character in India who bring her to his home and keeps her safe. After he figures out that she is from Pakistan, he travels the risky roads and delivers Malhotra's character to her mother. Before the Bharat Ratna Dr Ambedkar Award, Malhotra had been bestowed with many prestigious awards for her performance in the film.

She shared a picture of her with the award and wrote in the caption, "Blessed to receive Bharat Ratna Dr. Ambedkar national award from Shri. Bhagat Singh koshyari ( Governor of Maharashtra) (sic)." The film also had Kareena Kapoor ina lead role. It went on to become a blockbuster success and Malhotra became a household named overnight. This year on his birthday, actor Salman Khan announced the sequel of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and said that it would be named Pawan Putra Bhaijaan. However, Kabir Khan in a recent interview shared that it is being written but nothing’s official as of yet.

Fans have been wondering if Harshaali Malhotra will be recast in the sequel of the film.
