Bollywood Singer Kanika Kapoor tested positive for COVID 19, thus becoming the first in the Indian film industry to have been infected with the global pandemic. She was detected positive for coronavirus with three others in Uttar Pradesh, taking the number of COVID-19 patients in the state to nine, as per reports. She had recently returned from the United Kingdom and allegedly hid her travel history from the authorities.
Kanika Kapoor is known for her chartbusters, Jacqueline-starrer 'Chittiyaan Kalaaiyaan' and Sunny Leone- starrer 'Baby Doll'.

Anurag, her brother confirmed, "Yes she had gone to London, and after coming back she complained of sore throat and flu. We got her tested and it's come positive." The news has not been confirmed but there are claims that Kapoor stayed in Delhi after returning from London to attend a lavish party with over 100 guests, before proceeding to her hometown, Lucknow. Concerning this, her brother has said, "All these are rumors to malign her image. Who throws a party at this time? Please put an end to this rumor."

The singer has been taken to King George's Medical University (KGMU) Hospital in Lucknow. She has been kept in isolation ward currently. Kanika Kapoor confirmed the news in an official statement, "Hello everyone, for the past four days I have had signs of flu, I got myself tested and it came positive for Covid-19. My family and I are in complete quarantine now and following medical advice on how to move forward. The contact mapping of people I have been in touch with is underway as well."
The singer has asked her fans to take care and self-isolate for the greater good, "At this stage, I would like to urge you all to practice self-isolation and get tested if you have the signs. I am feeling ok, like the normal flu and a mild fever, however, we need to be sensible citizens at this time and think of all around us. We can get through this without panic only if we listen to the experts and our local, state and central government directives. Wishing everyone good health."
Medical officials are now confused as to how to quarantine the entire building where Kanika stayed and performed and test the bureaucrats, political leaders and other personalities who attended the bash. “Some people have started approaching us for tests but we still do not know how to make the VIPs undergo tests,” said a doctor at the KGMU the
