Australian Woman Completes Her Bucket List, Gets Arrested On Her 100th Birthday

It had always been Jean Bickenton's wish to be arrested. Her wish was granted when the Victoria Police showed up at her birthday celebration and arrested her. According to the reports, the officers placed fake handcuffs on Jean and hauled her out of Narracan Gardens Residential Aged Care.

Most people have something on their bucket list, such as going on a world tour or undertaking some adventurous trip. Even though everyone can't complete everything on their bucket list, an Australian woman had a unique request that came through on her 100th birthday.

100 year old Australian Woman Arrested

Jean Bicketon, a former nurse who recently turned 100, had 'getting arrested' on her bucket list. Her wish was granted when she was placed under arrest by the Victoria Police on her 100th birthday.

Three young constables from Victoria Police described how they went to the Narracan Gardens Residential Aged Care and "gently placed handcuffs" on Bicketon, announcing her to be "officially under arrest" in a Facebook post.

With minimal restriction, the woman obliged freely. "According to Jean, it was one of the best celebrations, and we're glad we could help grant the experience. Wishing Jean a wonderful 100th birthday! Thanks to everyone that made this possible," they wrote in the post uploaded on Facebook.

In pictures posted by the Victoria Police, Jean Bicketon can be seen posing with the three constables who came to take her into custody while donning a tiara. The post was published on August 22 and has received a great response.

Internet users applauded Victoria Police's gesture in the comments area since they were so happy with it. One person commented, "That is real community policing, well done."Another user commented, "Vicpol, you have made an elderly lady very happy with her smile. Well done all."
