Arpita Mukherjee and Partha Chatterjee are both in the custody of ED at CGO Complex in Salt Lake and are prime suspects in the SSC scam. Officials have speculated that the cash recovered is the revenue of the SSC scam. After further investigation, officials discovered yet another flat of Mukherjee in Belgharia, raided the flat, and made shocking discoveries.

  • The raid in Mukherjee's Belgharia flat, North 24-Parganas, West Bengal went on for 18 hours and was manned by ED and CRPF officials.

  • Reports suggest that probe officials have recovered another ₹28 crores worth of cash, in addition to 5kg of gold in the latest raids held in her Belgharia residence.
  • ''The officials came to our flat and raided the entire house and rummaged through the cupboards. They didn't find anything here. I myself am surprised at the news of so many properties and cash recovered from my daughter'' stated Arpita's mother, after the ED raid in their ancestral home in Belgharia.
  • Reports also suggest that in addition to cash and gold, several land deeds, documents related to intimation and transfer of candidates, letters of recommendations from MLAs, and several deeds of conveyance in Mukherjee's name were also found.
  • A total of over 50 crores worth of cash, high-end apple phones, over 2 crores worth of gold, forex and multiple sale deeds have been recovered after the latest raids, which was then carried out by official in trunks.
  • "We are finding grilling Mr Chatterjee quite difficult. He has been very stubborn and non-cooperative with our officers. He is not replying to our questions," revealed ED officials, who also reassured the public that a thorough investigation is being done into the matter.
