Here's Why Actor-Model Archana Gautam Is Being Trolled

Archana Gautam Trolled: After Congress fielded actor-model Archana Gautam from Hastinapur constituency for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections, troll brigade started targetting her on the basis of her bikini-clad pictures that went viral on social media.

Her candidature didn't go do well with the Hindu Mahasabha who said that it has hurt the sentiments of many Hindus and Jains. According to it, Hastinapur is a pilgrimage centre for them and holds a lot of religious importance.

Archana Gautam defended her candidature urging people not to merge her media profession with her career as a politician. "I represented India in Miss Bikini 2018. I was Miss Uttar Pradesh 2014 and Miss Cosmo World 2018. I request people not to merge my profession in the media industry with my political career," Gautam said adding that the backlash is mere trolling of her profession.

"I consider it nothing more than just trolling. I was born in Hastinapur, this is my birthplace. I know the region in and out and that is why Priyanka (Gandhi) didi found me suitable. Those who are circulating my bikini-clad pictures have exposed their own mindset. I am proud of what I do,” she said to an interviewer with Times of India.

She told ANI that after becoming an MLA, her first priority will be to build a bus stand and a railway station to get rid of the problem of connectivity of Hastinapur with other cities. This will also boost tourism and employment.

Gautam got the ticket within two months of joining the party. The party rolled out its first list of candidates from various constituencies on January 13. Among 125 candidates there in the list, 50 are women.

Archana Gautam is an Indian actor, model and beauty pageant title holder from Uttar Pradesh and was crowned as Miss Uttar Pradesh 2014, Miss Bikini India 2018, Miss Cosmo India 2018 and Miss Talent 2018. She has been seen in Bollywood movies like Great Grand Masti (2016), Haseena Parker (2017), and Baaraat Company (2017). and is often referred to as Sunny Leone of the South. She joined the Congress party in November 2021. She has 734K followers on Instagram.
