But the fear was real, for the doctors ordered a cesarean section and Zain was born at 11:29 PM on August 13, 1996. "He did not cry," Satya wrote in his blog. Relishing the happy moment of childbirth, little did the young couple know the news awaiting them.

"Over the course of the next couple of years, we learnt more about the damage caused by in utero asphyxiation and how Zain would require a wheelchair and be reliant on us because of severe cerebral palsy. I was devastated," he wrote.

But over the years, they took care of their son and made it their mission to make life better for him and others. They stood strong together. Their relationship was always known to be one of a kind. Especially after Satya wrote Hit Refresh in 2017.

In the book, he disclosed how he readily gave up the Green Card and was even ready to leave his job to fly back to India and stay with his wife. The story behind it was that he had a Green Card and under US law, the visa application of the spouse of a Green Card holder is rejected.

He married Anupama in the year 1993 and following which the plan was that Anupama will move to the US. But when it did not pan out, he gave up his Green Card for temporary status in 1994. "There was nothing I could do about it. Anu was my priority. And that made my decision a simple one," he wrote in his book.

In 1994, he went to US Embassy in New Delhi and gave back his Green Card while applying for an H-1B visa. Things worked out and they moved back to the US together. In 1996, they had their first child. They also have two daughters both younger than Zain.
