Anupa Das, a school teacher from Chhattisgarh is the third crorepati of the season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Her winning question? "Who was awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery on 18 November 1962 at Rezang La in Ladakh?" She opted for a 50-50 lifeline to answer the question. The answer to the question was Major Shaitan Singh and that confirmed her win.
Das plans to use the money she won for her mom's cancer treatment. She now lives in Mumbai, where she moved mainly to get her mom's cancer treatment done.
Das told Amitabh Bachchcan that it took her two decades to come on the show, as she had dreamed of competing several times.. After she won ₹ 1 crore, Amitabh Bachchan told Anupa Das after her victory, "Ye koi saadharan khel nahi tha aapka, adhbhut khel tha ye (your game wasn't ordinary, it was very special). An emotional Anupa Das told Big B that she had "never imagined" that she'll win ₹ 1 crore. After she won ₹ 1 crore, Amitabh Bachchan contacted Anupa's mother through a video call.
Recently IPS officer Mohita Sharma also picked the 1 cr prize.
