How Indian All-Rounder Anjali Sarvani Made Her Way To UP Warriorz This WPL

Andhra Pradesh resident Kesavarajugari Anjali Sarvani, who made her international debut against Australia in 2022, is known for her skills as an all-rounder.

25-year-old Kesavarajugari Anjali Sarvani rose through several hardships to find her ground as a cricketer. Today, Sarvani is known for her ability not just just bowl well but also to perform brilliantly as a batter.

Sarvani made her international debut against Australia on December 9, 2022. On the same day, she also received the India cap. She bowls medium fast and is a left-handed batter.

Sarvani was chosen by the UP Warriorz team for 55 lakh rupees at the February 2023 auction.

Who is Anjali Sarvani?

Born on July 28, 1997, in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool, Sarvani had a challenging time navigating her dreams as a child. However, support from her family, friends and even school helped her move forward and choose cricket as a career.

She is renowned for representing the Railroads. She was on the South team. Anjali was chosen to participate in the T20 International competitions. Since a young age, Anjali has been a keen cricket enthusiast. From an early age, she participated in several sports, before dedicating herself solely to cricket. She got chosen for the local cricket squad.

She draws motivation from Yuvraj Singh and plays as both a batter and a bowler. At age 12, the camp's coach recognised her enthusiasm and selected her for the U16 district squad.

She was interested in ">sports and was a 100-meter sprinter before she started playing cricket. She said in an interview that the Kurnool District Cricket Association executives had encouraged her to join a cricket camp when she was in school and preparing for a race. She was hesitant to sign up, but her parents persuaded her to do so, and she did quite well during the camp.

Afterwards, she put up a fantastic performance in matches at the state level and then got selected for India.

When she represented South Zone versus North Zone in the 2017–18 Senior Women's Cricket Inter Zonal Three-Day Game, she was acknowledged as the game's top bowler. She also participated in cricket for Team India B. As a member of India B, she took part in the Women's T20 Quadrangular Series in Patna in 2020. On December 9, 2022, Anjali participated in her first international game for India against Australia at DY Patil.

Her father admitted in an interview that it was quite challenging for them to pay for her costs, but their friends, family, and school greatly assisted them. Her tuition fees were paid by her school. Her family gave her a lot of support. To support her, her mother and younger brother relocated to Hyderabad.

Sarvani is now representing the UP Warriorz at the ongoing WPL and is surely working towards helping her team earn a top spot in the tournament.
