Besides the limited overs series, the 20-year-old has also been selected to play at the Asia Cup which will be held in Thailand from November 30. Before Meghana, Andhra has given players like V. Sneha Deepthi and R. Kalpana to the Indian women’s cricket team.

“Meghana’s selection to the Indian team is a feather in the cap for the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA). Her selection was possible due to the untiring efforts of Maria Fahey, ACA women's coach from New Zealand, and the entire support staff of the ACA Women's Cricket Academy in Guntur, besides her own commitment. We are all proud of her and wish her the best of luck,” said G. Ganga Raju, secretary, ACA, to The Hindu.

Meghana has been a part of the Andhra Women’s team for long. She lives in Krishna district and for the past six years, has played in under-16, under-19, senior women one-dayers and T20s for ACA. She has been winning many South Zone cricket tournaments. She has also been captain of the Andhra women’s team in all age-groups.
