Singer and artist Ananya Birla, who is the daughter of Aditya Birla Group’s billionaire chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla slammed a US restaurant for being “racist”. The artist claimed that the American-Italian dining place “literally threw” her and her family out of their premises.
Ananya Birla took to her Twitter account to share her ordeal on Saturday and wrote, “This restaurant @ScopaRestaurant literally threw my family and I, out of their premises. So racist. So sad. You really need to treat your customers right. Very racist. This is not okay.”
The restaurant, The Scopa is an American Italian dining place by chef Antonia Lofaso in California. Lofaso is an American Chef who has appeared on the reality TV shows like Top Chef, Chopped, Cutthroat Kitchen, and Restaurant Startup, among others.

Tagging chef Lafaso, Birla further tweeted, “We waited for 3 hours to eat at your restaurant. @chefantonia Your waiter Joshua Silverman was extremely rude to my mother, bordering racist. This isn’t okay."
Neerja Birla, the mother of Ananya Birla who is an educationist and mental health activist herself also tweeted, “Very shocking ..absolutely ridiculous behaviour by @ScopaRestaurant. You have no right to treat any of your customers like this."
Recently, Suhana Khan, actor Shahrukh Khan's daughter, took to her Instagram and shared a strongly worded post which called for ‘ending colourism’. She shared screenshots of several trolls who criticised her for her complexion calling her ‘Kaali’ and ‘Ugly’ along with a long and empowering caption in which she said that she is extremely happy with her brown complexion and everyone else should be too.
