Agra Gangrape: A 19-year-old was gangraped by three men in front of her husband in a forest adjoining the road that leads to Agra. The couple was also looted of their valuables.
The police have arrested one of the two named suspects and the third suspect isn't identified by the survivor yet.
A young couple was travelling to Agra to meet their relatives on the occasion of Holi. On their way, they were intersected by a group of three men on a bike. The 19-year-old woman said in the statement given to police that she was dragged to the nearby forest adjoining the road. She was gangraped by the three men namely Gauri Rajput and Monu and the third one being unidentified by the woman.
The couple was also looted of their valuables. The husband was beaten and the couple was threatened not to report it. The crime was reported to the 112 dial number. The couple was later instructed to file a complaint at the Chalesar Police. The police were able to arrest one of the two but hasn't revealed his name stating that the investigation was at a sensitive point. The survivor was sent for medical examination.
Satyajeet Gupta, superintendent of police (rural), Agra West gave a statement stating that "A case has been registered at Etmadpur police station for gang rape, loot and physical assault against Gauri Rajput and Monu besides an unidentified person. Search is on for the accused."
The case was registered under section 376 (D) (gang rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 394 (hurt in the attempt of robbery) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Etmadpur police station.
