The six time Grammy Award winner Adele has done it again. She has broken her own record of success. Her album 21 amounted to break the record of the legend, Michael Jackson by becoming the bestselling album worldwide for two consecutive years. The International Federation of Phonographic Industry announced the 27 year old artist’s achievement as a global star.
For the record breaking sales of 21, Billboard named it the top album of all times! Her song ‘Hello’, from the album 25 , was also named the Adult R&B Songs Chart at the Billboard. The album sold 3.38 million copies in the very first week, putting Adele at -the spot of the first ever million weeker star.
Its her story she’s telling, maybe that’s why its so relatable and appears so real. The language that she uses to communicate these emotions is so simple and global, and the pain in her voice simply adds to the magic trick. Terri Thomas, operations manager for adult R&B station KMJQ in Houston says, “She tells a story through song that so many people can relate to.” Her success also might have something to do with the fact that she didn’t go for online streaming as a medium of communication with her fans.
