Actors Remembering Vikram Gokhale
Vikram Gokhale, a legendary actor in Bollywood, passed away today at a hospital in Pune. The veteran had multiple organ failures and had been receiving treatment for more than 15 days.

At a hospital in Pune on Saturday afternoon, veteran actor Gokhale passed away. After being on a ventilator for days, veteran actor Gokhale passed away in Pune. The actor died at a hospital in Pune after experiencing multiple organ failures. He was 82. At the hospital, Gokhale was receiving medical attention. After the prompt action, his condition had become rather stable. He was in a serious state, nevertheless, and his health had started to deteriorate once more. This evening, his final rites will be carried out in a crematorium in Pune.

Manoj Bajpayee recalled his pleasant experiences working alongside Gokhale by saying, “Indian cinema lost a gem of an actor. Had the privilege of working with him in Aiyyari and shared few great moments with him on the set ! Saddened to hear about Shri Vikram Gokhale ji’s demise. My thoughts & prayers are with the family

Akshay Kumar, who had collaborated on two films with Gokhale tweeted, “Very sad to learn of Vikram Gokhale ji’s passing. He taught those who worked with him on movies like Bhool Bhulaiya and Mission Mangal so much. Shanti Om.”

Anil Kapoor also paid condolences, he wrote, “I had the honour & privilege to work with Vikram Gokhale ji in one of the films that is very very close to my heart and his contribution to that film was immense, had a great time working with him…he was a great actor of Indian Cinema…(1/2)” and continued writing, “respected and immensely admired theatre & star actor in Marathi cinema…always looked forward to his performances in the films I have seen..his absence will be felt dearly…my heartfelt condolences to the family”. The actor also shared screenshots from one of the films where they shared screen.

In 1971, the actor made his Hindi cinema debut in Parwana, starring Amitabh Bachchan. In Hindi and Marathi, Vikram Gokhale has appeared in more than 80 films and 17 television programmes. Additionally, he appeared in the television programme Virrudh with Smriti Irani. In the 2010’s Marathi film Aaghat, he made his directing debut. A National Award was given to Gokhale for his performance in the Marathi movie Anumati.
