Chandini accuses Manikandan: South Indian film actor Chandini accused All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leader M Manikandan of cheating and blackmailing her, and allegedly threatening to out her private photos, reports said Friday.
Speaking to the press, Chandini alleged the politician had a relationship with her and had promised marriage. When she got pregnant, she claims Manikandan forced an abortion. There is an alleged threat to her life, she has further said.
Documents, chats and photographs shown to the media, Chandini says, are proof of the relationship she had with the politician for five years. She has reportedly lodged a complaint in the case with the Chennai police commissioner. Manikandan has not made a statement on the matter yet.
Life Under Threat, An Alleged Abortion: Chandini Accuses Manikandan
As per ">ABP, Chandini's complaint refers to 2017 when she says she worked with the Malaysian Tourism Development Corporation. On her India visits, she claims to have been introduced to Manikandan, which led to them developing a relationship. The complaint says Manikandan divorced his wife legally so he could live with Chandini.
"I was allowed to visit the Assembly as his wife when the former Minister last delivered his address to the Assembly in 2019," her complaint reportedly states. In August 2019, Manikandan was relieved from his post in the Tamil Nadu cabinet as IT Minister, owing to a conflict with another minister Udumalai Radhakrishnan, as per The Print.
Chandini has further alleged the role of Manikandan's accomplice, one Parani, in her physical assault and death threats.
