The Nightmarish Ordeal Of Two Women

The tragic saga unfolded as Shiri and her family sought refuge in their home's safe room amidst the relentless attack that unfolded over the weekend. Armed militants, presumably Hamas fighters, forcefully breached the sanctity of their home, situated in a village near the Gaza border. Shiri, displaying remarkable courage, hid in her room with her two boys, Kfir and Ariel, while her husband, Yarden Bibas, armed himself with a small pistol. The sound of gunfire outside their windows served as a haunting reminder of the horrors that awaited them.

Yarden, aged 36, sent a heart-wrenching text message to his loved ones during the turmoil, a simple yet profound expression of his love and fear. "I love you all," he conveyed, his words carrying the weight of uncertainty. An hour later, another message followed, bearing ominous tidings: "They're coming in." Regrettably, this message marked the end of Yarden's communication, leaving his family in agonizing suspense.

The heartrending ordeal didn't end with Yarden's disappearance from contact. Family members, scouring social media for any signs of their loved ones, stumbled upon a horrifying video. In the footage, Shiri Silberman-Bibas, clutching her children tightly, is seen being forcibly taken away by the terrorists. The terror etched on her face is an indelible image that haunts those who have witnessed it. Notably, Yarden Bibas remains absent from the video, adding another layer of mystery and concern to this already tragic situation.

The Missing Parents

Tragically, the nightmare doesn't end with Shiri and her children's abduction. Shiri's parents, Yossi and Margit Silberman are also missing and are feared to be held captive by Hamas terrorists. The anguish and uncertainty surrounding their fate are a source of profound sorrow for their extended family. Yifat Zeiler, the couple's niece, expressed her heartfelt wishes, saying, "I just hope that they are alive and that they are together. And I want them home, with me, so I can hug them tightly again." The situation, by any measure, is a catastrophe.

Surviving the Israel Rave Attack

In another story that unfolded amidst the crisis, Lee Sasi, like approximately 3,000 other revellers, was enjoying an all-night rave in Israel. The majority of the attendees were young Israelis, seeking an escape from the daily grind and a night of fun and camaraderie. Little did they know that their night would turn into a nightmare.  Lee Sasi, among the revellers, found herself facing a life-threatening situation.

Together with approximately 35 others, she sought refuge in a bomb shelter, only to be discovered by Hamas fighters. What followed was a nightmare: indiscriminate gunfire into the bunker and the horrifying decision to hide beneath the bodies of those who had fallen victim to the attack.

Sasi's gripping account, shared with i24news reporter Natasha Raquel Kirtchuk Gutman on Instagram, unveils the sheer horror and resilience that defined those seven hours under siege.

As these stories of survival and desperation continue to emerge amidst the Gaza conflict, our hearts go out to the victims and their families. We fervently hope for their safe return and an end to the atrocities that have shaken the world's conscience.
