AAP reveal their 10 point agenda to ensure women’s safety

Following the recent incidents of violence against women, the Aam Aadmi Party has been protesting against the present systems and laws. The current system has continuously failed the women in the capital. To combat this issue the Party organized a ‘#Women’sDialogue’ at Jantar Mantar, Delhi, recently. At the conference, the Party interacted with common people and discussed measures that could help prevent such crimes against women.

#Women’ssafety is one of the most important issues in the country today. Delhi, the capital of India, has the highest reported cases of rape in the country. As elections in the capital approach the party has promised to take required steps in this direction.  According to AAP, they have a ten point agenda in ensuring safety of women in Delhi.

These are: installation of street lights in all streets and pavements of Delhi, CCTV camera installation in all buses and bus stations, employing bus marshals in buses and having zero tolerance for molestation; ‘Grameen seva service,’ that will provide shared auto-rikshaw services  and will have fixed routes; setting up 2 lakh public toilets for women in public spaces and 1.5v lakh toilets in slums; 47 fast track courts to deal with women related cases; formation of  a women’s security force and utilization of 12,000 strong home guard and civil defense force; ‘Suraksha button’ on all mobile phones and connectivity with the Delhi Police over wifi; women getting a say in the location of alcohol vends and ensuring social security of women in the unorganized sector and domestic help.

 

The party claims to always deliver on their promises, if they stick to their words this time and manage to get elected, Delhi might see a positive change in the coming years.
