Being the owner of a big extermination business called Bug Boys, he uploaded videos of creepy crawlies that he found during work. He instantly uploaded the videos on TikTok that helped his TikTok account flooding his account with 300,000 followers. As soon as he was able to raise $108,000 he handed that amount generously to Marion.

As soon as McCarty started the GoFundMe page for raising funds for the 82 year old, within merely a week more $100,000 funds were raised. In the GoFundMe page, McCarty officially states that, “I wanted to help this Navy veteran live out the remainder of his years travelling to see his kids in Florida. Get him off his feet for eight hours at a time, and do the things he would love to do but may not be able to for financial reasons."

In fact, another female elderly woman who worked at Walmart raised funds through TikTok in order to retire from her job. Apparently, there were three Walmart elderly employees who had been working tirelessly for the firm. Inspired by this elderly woman, McCarty was able to come in terms with the idea of raising funds.
