Rajasthan Shocker: 12-Year-Old Delivers Baby, Accuses Cousin Of Rape

A 12-year-old girl delivered a baby on Sunday. She accused her uncle's (father's elder brother) son of rape, as per the police.

The girl had earlier filed a complaint against her three classmates but on August 25, she changed her statement and accused her cousin instead.

The police has now arrested the 23-year-old cousin and presented him before the court. The accused has been sent to two-day police custody. The rape survivor alleged that her cousin has been sexually abusing her since past eight months. She hoped that the alleged abuse would stop when the cousin would get married but the girl found herself to be pregnant.

12-year-old Delivers Baby:

The Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajuram Chaudhary confirmed the details of the case and said that an investigation is going on.

The girl delivered her baby in a Jodhpur hospital after local doctors referred her case. The minor and her baby were reported to be healthy.

As per reports, the survivor is a student of Class 10. She had earlier alleged that her three classmates raped her nine months ago when she was coming back from school.

Even then the police had found her statements to be confusing as the schools have been closed since March 2020 majorly. The place of incident was also to be verified. Rajasthan State Commission for Protection of Child Rights chaiperson, Sangeeta Baniwal had said that the girl was allegedly abducted by three men in a jeep, one of them was her classmate. Then she was allegedly raped.

The survivor's parents came to know of the incident when she complained of stomach ache. On running a medical check up, they found out about her pregnancy. The girl had also identified a accused but later she took back her statement. Her mother has said that they will not keep the child. She was quoted saying, "We have asked the child welfare committee to look after mother and child."
