One of the protestors reportedly said, "For the first time, women will independently run the parliament ("Kisan Sansad")."

All-women Kisan Sansad:

After the monsoon session of the Parliament started, farmers were given permission to protest at the Jantar Mantar till August 9 on weekdays. Samyukt Kisan Morcha had issued in its statement on Sunday, "Tomorrow’s Kisan Sansad at Jantar Mantar will be conducted entirely by women. The Mahila Kisan Sansad will reflect the key role that women play in Indian agriculture and their critical role in the ongoing movement too. Convoys of women farmers from various districts are reaching the morchas for the Mahila Kisan Sansad."

One of the women protesting against the farm laws called the new farm laws passed by the Parliament one of the "black laws".

The protests against the new farm laws have been going on since November last year. The farmers from different states have objected to the Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farms Services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.

As per reports, farmers in the Jind district in Haryana are going to organise a tractor rally with tableaus in the city on August 15, independence day. The farmers' leader Bijendra Sindhu said on Sunday that they decided to not allow any minister to hoist the national flag on the occasion.
