Jodhpur Suicide Case: The harrowing case of a brutal rape on a woman in Assam and the suicide case of a Nagaland woman in Jodhpur have been going viral on social media. The triggering details of the cases have sparked outrage among netizens who were seen questioning how safe are women in India.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju who has is the head of Youth Affairs and Sports Ministery in India, took to Twitter to clarify the two cases. As the two cases involved two northeastern women, many mistook the two cases as one. Rijiju in his tweet wrote, "The viral video of a girl from North-East being brutally raped and tortured by 4 men & 1 women is not related to Jodhpur suicide case."

He ensured, "I had detailed discussion with the Police Commissioner of Jodhpur. However, there must be all out efforts by all State Police to catch the devils."

Jodhpur Suicide Case: A woman,25, from Nagaland died by suicide on May 23 in Jodhpur. She was living in a rented room, the Naga Students' Union Rajasthan's President reportedly confirmed. According to the reports, the deceased woman's post-mortem report stated 'natural suicide' as a cause of her death.

Meanwhile, pictures of a woman being brutally assaulted and tortured by four men and a woman started to viral on social media, which were released by Assam police. Earlier the viral video made by the culprits had gotten viral. The disturbing video caught many people's attention. The Assam police wrote in their tweet, "These images are of 5 culprits who are seen brutally torturing & violating a young girl in a viral video."

"The time or place of this incident is not clear. Anyone with information regarding this crime or the criminals may please contact us. They will be rewarded handsomely."

Later on Friday, May 28, the police were able to arrest six persons in connection with the viral assault video. Out of the six suspects arrest, two of them were women while the other four were men. The arrests took place in Bengaluru. Two accused persons were also shot by police before they were apprehended.
