One among them is, Dr. Trinetra who goes by penname trintrin on Instagram. In a recent post, she narrated her ordeal of receiving hate on social media. She shared screenshots of trollers who have been questioning her identity and abusing her for being her. Her experiences as a doctor have been going viral on the internet.

Doctor On Trans Hatred

Dr. Trinetra shared a photo in her blue doctor uniform with a child. She said, "If the pediatrics department taught me anything, it’s that hate isn’t something you’re born with. I’ve played with kids, laughed with them, and drawn butterflies and airplanes for them, and not one of them asked me why my voice sounded like a man’s. I was just another doctor, or at least, just someone friendly."

Further talking about social conditioning she added, "As a child, I was taught to fear transgender people. It breaks my heart that so many of these kids might one day grow up to talk to trans people like me this way. Society would’ve taught them to in a few years. It breaks my heart that kids are taught the conditioned reflex of hatred and that I was lucky I made it alive, but someday, somebody won’t."

Discussing her work she opened up about the anxieties she feels. She wrote, "I can’t explain the degree of anxiety that runs through my mind when I examine a kid - what if my voice and broad shoulders give me away, and that makes parents instantly uncomfortable with my presence? What if someone refuses treatment someday? What use is activism there, really? No slogan will reverse that discomfort."

"Also, something that the queer community needs to ask itself is how quick it is to assume someone “passes” or comfortably assimilates into cis society, and to what degree. It might help us all to not make assumptions about how we experience being queer/trans, how we deal with dysphoria/what makes us dysphoric, how comfortable we are in society, and what goes into making each day liveable", added the doctor.

Talking about Transgender Day of Remembrance she said, "a day to commemorate all the trans people that lost their lives to hate. I just hope more of us don’t need to die in order for you to offer kindness. We’re tired of being resilient and strong and inspirational. Most of us would just like to go about our days and jobs feeling safe and welcome. Most of us would just like to survive, and remotely hope to thrive."

Since this post was shared, she has gained nearly 21,000 likes and several comments. Many netizens showered her with support.

A user wrote in comments, "I personally love your voice Trinetra and everything else about you that do not necessarily fit into the society's definition of a woman. It is so disheartening that mere survival has become something to be relieving for a transperson each day cause of this conditioned reflex of hatred." A second person added, "the exhaustion that the queer community has to feel with constantly asking/expecting people for basic human decency and kindness must be incredible."

Another user wrote, "Fucking proud of you. And fuck all the haters. You live a life that is worth to be lived in every possible way you wish to and you be you. Some people cannot see how inspirational you are and can't seem to hear the voices to amplify for the ones who can't. Let them continue to do what they are born to do and you please continue to be a hell of a gem. "
