Women supporting women: It is rather sweet and empowering to witness women fix each other's crown and validate each other.

In a world where women have enough obstacles, the least we can do support each other. Strong women are always trying to lift other women rather than trying to tear each other down. And what a sight it is to witness when people lift each other up. Where people have a common belief that women are mostly 'nasty' to their own gender, debunking such myths seems imperative. Here are some empowering moments with women supporting women:

Fangirling out

Would getting mistaken for someone else make your day? Maybe if it’s a celebrity, then sure. But what happens if a globally popular celebrity is mistaken for another artist? Well, in the case of Reese Witherspoon, such an incident made her day. The Legally Blonde actor was misidentified as the country singer Carrie Underwood in a parking lot.

The Hollywood A-lister took to Twitter and shared the story of bumping into a fan who mistook her for the singer. However, the incident didn’t upset her, rather she indulged in a tweet exchange with Carrie. Both the celebrities fangirled over each other on the microblogging site.

“To the woman in the parking lot who just asked me if I was Carrie Underwood: You officially made my day!” Reese wrote in her tweet.

When the American singer found out about the incident, she responded to Witherspoon’s tweet and wrote, "YOUR day?!?!?!?! That lady just made my whole life!"

Women supporting women: Iconic fist bump

And sometimes, the spoken words are replaced with just gestures and it brings in more power. To cite a recent incident, US President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris inauguration day in Washington. Although it was a day of ‘many firsts’ but the first double fist bumps exchanged between the former First lady, Michelle Obama and US Vice President Kamala Harris was a powerful sight.

Here’s the clip, tell me you don’t feel the impact of women supporting women.

It didn't stop there, social media users gushed over the women supporting women moment and made the video go viral.

Kamala Harris made history as the first Black and Southeast Asian woman to become vice president. On the other hand, Michelle Obama, who is the former first lady is also the first Black woman to hold that position.

Sisterhood of support

In 2017, Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra appeared on Wendy Williams’ daytime TV talk show to promote her film Baywatch and made it quite memorable. During the interview, Williams began to talk about the actor’s friendship with Suits’ star Meghan Markle, who is married to Prince Harry, and addressed Markle as “Prince Harry’s girlfriend”.

Not missing the opportunity to set it right. Chopra corrected the host and counted the actors’ achievements which should have been part of her introduction. "Also, Meghan Markle, actress...Suits... her achievements, mmm-hmm, just saying..." she said to revise Williams' statement. That is exactly why we need women supporting women. Chopra taught Williams a lesson in that matter.
