Here are some highlights from the insightful ">discussion on artificial intelligence, ChatGPT, writing, and creativity.

Impact Of ChatGPT On Writing

Radhika Marwah, the executive editor of Penguin Random House articulated that ChatGPT is a disruption for the writers and this issue has not been faced before. She added that as a publisher, she comes across many people who ruminate that ChatGPT is going to put writers out of their job moreover Amazon now has a whole new category that inculcates books authored or co-authored by ChatGPT.

There is a bizarre predicament that proclaims that writers must be using ChatGPT and disguising it; however, as a publisher, it's her cup of tea to decipher whether a work is original or not. Although at the end of the day, she confided that ChatGPT is a tool that resembles Google and it relies upon the writer how magnificently their uses his art to embroider it. As per her sentiments, some mundane tasks may turn out to be engaging. She was not anxious about ChatGPT impacting the originality of the content.

Can Chat GPT Replace An Author Or Be An Aide?

The founder of Labyrinth Anish Chandy shared his musings by emphasising that ChatGPT is not there in terms of the ability to create a book today but it's evolving and soon it’ll be able to do so. He ruminated that in some genres, ChatGPT will never be replacing any author.

But taking the example of some genres including commercial fiction, where the level of writing is quite mediocre, in that genre he ponders ChatGPT can write a better book than some of the published commercial fiction. Another genre that ChatGTP can disrupt is nonfiction, where no primary research is required.

Executive Editor of Rolling Stone India Nirmika Singh, separated ChatGPT from AI and spoke about AI as a whole in the music industry. Music production is one of the first areas where technology is involved and evolved, whether it is a sampling of music or producing futuristic music, therefore AI as a whole is in the position of aiding tools.

Music has been required in each and every form of content creation and in which ChatGPT is working as an aide and also provides monetising opportunities to the musicians. If it's just related to data then it's apt and appropriate to say that AI can be used as a beautiful aid. Moreover, music tools can be vital in co-creation of the authentic material and it can be deciphered whether it's human-generated or AI-generated.

Dealing With AI Is Not A Herculean Task

Anish Chandy believes that AI can enable us to be introspective artists and originality is detectable in AI's writing. It doesn't even threaten human talent or human creativity. Merely job description has transformed so far even there has been no job elimination that's why there is no indiscriminate need to be apprehensive of ChatGPT though it relies on the outlook with which one uses it.
