Losing weight is tough. So often people try and fail, and try again. More so, it is even more difficult for women due to many reasons than just one. It can sometimes be hormones, inadequate diet for many years, stage of life, age and body composition. It is often seen, that if a man and woman go on a diet together, the man will start shedding the extra kilos much earlier and much faster than the woman. The impact of same level of exercise for both men and women also has shown to have extremely different results for both. This is mainly because men have a lot more lean tissue in their bodies. So, the same level of workout or diet would have a much bigger impact on the men than on women. Also, modern lifestyle and stressful job add to many more reasons that make it extremely difficult for women to balance their dietary needs while juggling their home and work duties simultaneously.

However, women are extremely cautious about their health these days, and do work on their diet, workout and lifestyle to achieve the best results.

But in the recent past, it’s been seen that the word diet has very strange connotations attached to it. Things like, mono diets, keto diets, GM diets, intermittent fasting have all become very common. In a desperate attempt to lose weight, people are trying to do anything that comes their way, without thinking about the consequences in the long run.

I strongly believe that having a balanced diet, if done in a proper way under good guidance can lead to astonishing results. I have many such success stories of people who have been able to achieve so much just by following a proper balanced diet plan. I would like to share one such amazing story, where the results were not just amazing but quite unbelievable to the woman herself.

My client, who is in her 40’s, suffering from hormonal imbalance of the thyroid gland that had made her gain weight. She is menopausal, so that made her symptoms even worse. She was constantly at a battle with her weight, along with other symptoms like anxiety, hot flashes, short temperedness, excessive bloating and gastric issues, that she was going through. All in all, she was very concerned about her health when she approached us. After having tried too many different and inadequate diets in the past, she had brought her overall health to a very imbalanced state.

After noting down all her symptoms and her diet history, we started working on her diet plan. She had signed up for a three month plan with us initially. The first diet plan went out to her, and she replied saying, can one really lose weight while eating so much?? There is no crash diet, no mono dieting, no salt less dinners. Are you sure this will work on me? I replied by saying, follow it and find out yourself. She started the diet very religiously with commendable dedication. And results were as expected. She was 9 kgs down in the first three months and that is, while she was going through all her hormonal upheavals. All the bloating that she had been suffering from is now gone. She signed up for another three months and lost another three kilos in the process and can maintain her weight and health so far.

I strongly, support and respect these qualities in people. People who are trying to make a positive impact on their health with good balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.

So, the right guidance and some motivation, takes people a long way. And sometimes, diet is all that needs to be worked on, to achieve your desired health goals. There is another success story, that reflects how and in how many ways can a weak gut health affect people??

Another client of mine, in her 30’s had been suffering from severe migraines for a long time. Whatever was suggested, never seemed to have worked on her. The medications prescribed took a toll on her already weak gut, i.e. the digestive system. She tried and tried, but her situation would end up being the same. She also needed to shed a few extra kilos.

She consulted me for her diet planning and health coaching, mainly having only the extra kilos on her mind. After a few consultation calls, and noting down of her symptoms, I referred to her an elimination diet that would heal her gut. She started with her plan and within first few weeks itself, she could figure out that it worked. Her migraines had reduced significantly. The only triggers that still bothered her sometimes was excessive heat and sunlight exposure for long hours. Again, it all calls for a lot of dedication and resilience on part of the client, to be able to work on the diet and create best results. I strongly, support and respect these qualities in people. People who are trying to make a positive impact on their health with good balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.

Women’s health is something very close to my heart and I believe, strong women raise strong children and the health of an entire nation depends primarily on the health of her women.
