I am not even thirty but I have known the importance of protein for the last many years thanks to the women in my family. Seeing my mom, who is much older and has to deal with aches and pains or my grandmom whose muscles have simply given up - I decided some time ago that I would not let this happen to me.

And so when I joined Gytree, and they planned this fabulous protein range of products, I wanted to be deeply involved and see how we can transform the awareness of protein knowledge and build effective and outcome-driven proteins for women. At the head of product growth, it's been my key focus to ensure more and more women take up protein, increase energy and find hormonal balance.

Let's talk about protein then. Why do you need it?

Protein supplements can be a beneficial addition to a woman's diet for a variety of reasons. One, protein is essential for the body's growth and repair. It's involved in the creation of muscles, skin, hair, and nails, as well as hormones and enzymes. Women who engage in regular physical activity, particularly strength training, may require more protein to support muscle recovery and growth.

Two, protein supplements can aid in weight management. Protein is more satiating than carbohydrates or fats, meaning it can help you feel fuller for longer. This can lead to reduced calorie intake and aid in weight loss or maintenance. Furthermore, the body uses more energy to digest protein compared to other macronutrients, a phenomenon known as the thermic effect of food, which can further support weight management.

Three, protein needs increase during certain life stages for women, such as pregnancy and lactation. During these times, the body requires additional protein to support the growth and development of the baby and to produce breast milk. Protein supplements can help meet these increased needs without adding excessive calories.

And what about vanity? Yes, who has not asked me this question. Literally everyone I know wants to know if protein improves skin. Will I glow? Can it help reduce hairfall? Well, the answer is yes. But don't forget, nothing works in an instant. Consistent usage of protein is what you need to have. Without a few months of doing this effectively, you will cannot get the results.

Are we seeing results? And of course, we are. Just so many women come back to us, sort of surprised themselves about how well Gytree's proteins work on their immunity, energy and hairfall. Take our very first customer - Muskaan. She is from Navi Mumbai and since using our products, her bone aches have significantly lowered. She is in her twenties, regularly commutes to her office and needed to up her overall protein levels. After subscribing to our protein, she has seen a ripple impact on other health indicators like shin bone pains, cut down in fatigue.

Or listen to the story of Smita Rajan, mother of two and she is a dance movement therapist. She has been having our protein for months and opted out of others because she felt no bloating with our protein. We tick some important boxes - no digestion issues, delicious to taste and most importantly, it works.

Of the many thousand women who use our protein, including myself, I feel there is an absolute love for our product because we are good, scientifically planned and we produce results.

For women following vegetarian or vegan diets, getting enough protein can be challenging due to the lower protein content of plant-based foods. Protein supplements can help fill this gap and ensure they meet their daily protein needs. However, it's important to note that protein supplements should not replace a balanced diet but rather complement it.
