Cinephiles are excited for the Samantha Ruth Prabhu starrer Yashoda to release soon since the actor will be returning to the thriller genre after she impressed the audience with her performance in the film U-Turn.
On May 5, Thursday, the actor shared a teaser from the upcoming film that surely sent chills down the audience’s spine.

The 40-second video begins with Samantha aka Yashoda opening her eyes and realising that the world around her has changed. She finds everything including her dress and environment surprisingly different. The visuals are backed with an intense background score that elevates the strange feeling that Yashoda feels and by extension, the audience experience it too.
Samantha approaches a pigeon while a heartbeat resonates in her ears. The pigeon flies away and the camera pans over unrecognizable structures of buildings which start resembling the wired components within devices. The music composed by Mani Sharma then picks up pace intensifying the fear and anticipation to know what’s next.
The teaser has definitely heightened the viewers’ expectations from the film that is set to release this August. Sharing the first glimpse from the film, Samantha wrote, “Very excited to present to you the first glimpse of our film Yashoda.”
Since the inception of the film, audiences’ expectations of the film have only soared further. Meanwhile, the makers are also not leaving a stone unturned to ensure that the film’s grandeur is up to the mark.
Written and directed by Hari Shankar and Harish Narayan, the sci-fi thriller also stars Unni Mukundan and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. Yashoda is slated to be simultaneously released in five languages—Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
The film produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under the banner Sridevi Movies will hit the screens on August 12. Reportedly, the film’s shooting will be wrapped up by May end so the makers can gear up for the August release.
On the work front, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has films lined up for her. The actor—who was last seen in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, also starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara—has joined the cast of the film Arrangements of Love, an adaptation of the 2004 book by Timeri N Murari. She will also star in the film Shaakuntalam and also shared her first look from the film recently.
