Yami Gautam is set to headline the upcoming political drama Article 370, slated for release in theatres on February 23, as announced by the film's producers. The trailer for the movie, directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, a recipient of the National Award debuted on Thursday, February 8.

The trailer, unveiled recently, provides a glimpse into Gautam's portrayal of an intelligence agent grappling with the complexities of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.

In the trailer, Yami Gautam appears in a fierce avatar, asserting that terrorism in Kashmir is not driven by the demand for freedom but is a business sustained by corrupt politicians. She contends that the perpetrators cannot be held accountable unless the special status granted to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 is revoked.

Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Article 370 promises a potent narrative inspired by true events that have significantly influenced the destiny of Kashmir, according to a press release. The film, directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, revolves around the dismantling of terrorism in Kashmir by rendering Article 370 ineffective.

Yami Gautam, renowned for her roles in films like Badlapur, Uri: The Surgical Strike, Bala, A Thursday, and Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, will step into the shoes of an intelligence agent for this project. Article 370 is backed by producers Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar. Notably, Aditya Dhar, who is also Gautam's husband, previously directed her in the 2019 action blockbuster Uri: The Surgical Strike. The duo tied the knot in 2021, adding a personal dimension to their professional collaborations.

On August 5, 2019, the Central government took a historic step by revoking Article 370, thereby eliminating the special status accorded to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir and reorganising it into the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
