Madhubala To Warrior Princess: Actor Yami Gautam's Wish-List Of Roles

In a recent interview, Gautam revealed that her dream roles include portraying Madhubala, a screen icon, and a warrior princess in a costume drama.

Yami Gautam will be soon seen as Riddhi Sahani, a crime reporter who is ruthless in her pursuit of the truth in the upcoming thriller, Lost. In a recent interview, Gautam revealed that her dream roles include portraying Madhubala, a screen icon, and a warrior princess in a costume drama.

Gautam plays a reporter who covers crime in the film Lost. She is in Kolkata working on a story of the sudden disappearance of a young theatre activist.

The actor described the film as a "human drama with an investigative twist". She added that the film discusses the media in the present day, human values and everyday necessities."

Lost will release on the OTT platform Zee 5 on February 16, 2023.

Yami Gautam's Wish-List Roles

In addition to receiving praise for her work in Kaabil, Badlapur, Bala, and A Thursday, the actor gained notoriety after making her acting debut in Vicky Donor. In an interview with PTI, Gautam stated, "I think there are a lot of (roles), but one thing I definitely want to do in life is act in costume dramas. I would love to play the role of a warrior princess one day."

When asked about her ideal biopic role, she responded that Madhubala would be her first choice. She added, "I once commented that if I had to pick a biopic, I would adore playing Madhubala Ji." She is still an icon. I can think of two or three personalities after Madhubala Ji. But before we discuss any roles, I'd like to sign."

The actor claimed that rather than concentrating on the platform, she searches for interesting projects.

"I am an actor first. My responsibility is to seek out the best opportunities I can. There is no distinction between OTT and big-screen productions in my opinion. That is the producer's prerogative (for which platform the film is made for). Bala was the last of my releases in theaters, and they found their audiences," she said of the 2019 satire, which also stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar.

According to Gautam, she and her husband, Aditya Dhar, talk about original ideas since they are both in the same profession. Dhar is a known director and has also directed Uri, which stars Gautam.

She said, "I am happy when he is happy that I did a good job," he says. He is, of course, my husband, but he is also a prolific director, and I eagerly await his feedback. Thus, we do exchange ideas.

She mentioned Dhoom Dhaam, an action-comedy that Dhar is writing and producing, as one of his upcoming movies.
