Mukta Barve, Prajakta Mali Social Drama 'Y' Most Likely About Organ Trafficking

The well-known actor Mukta Barve's film Y will finally be releasing and the trailer to the intriguing film was dropped on June 22. The movie is written and directed by Ajit Suryakant Wadikar and is made by Control-N Productions. The film is touted to be a “hyperlink thrill,” a concept that will be seen in Marathi cinema for the first time.

The trailer starts with a mom asking about her kid before switching to a hospital, suggesting that it is most likely a narrative concerning organ trafficking. Mukta Barve, a female officer, visits the hospital to look into irregularities there. In the second exchange, a man asks her what she's suggesting they do in the hospital.

In the ">trailer, she tries to contact the patients whose records are missing while looking into a scam at the hospital. Just now, it's being discussed in conversations. Patients are being hospitalised on Fridays, especially on the last Friday of the month, and something is happening. Those who took part in the scam are afraid of the investigation. Based on actual events, this is the tale of our existence and the battle we have had to maintain it.

Just after finishing high school, Barve received her first acting part in the drama Ghar Tighancha Hava. She later received her first commercial play, Suyog's Aamhala Vegle Vhayache in 2001, after moving to Mumbai. She made her television debut in Marathi in 1998 with the TV show Ghadlay Bighadlay, in which she portrayed Champa in a rural setting. She made her Marathi cinema debut in 2004 with the movie Chakwa, for which she was honoured with the Maharashtra State Film Awards' Most Promising Newcomer of the Year award. 

According to Ibrahim Afghan of The Times of India, Mukta "has performed honestly and does well in her character" in the movie. She then appeared in the Milind Lele-directed movie Bandishala opposite Sharad Ponkshe, Pravin Tarde, and many other actors.

She portrayed the fierce police officer Madhavi Sawant in the movie, who faces the wrath of numerous formidable foes who want to get rid of her. The critics praised her performance, saying that Mukta "handles the complete duty of taking the tale ahead like a pro." At the 2019 Maharashtra State Film Awards, Barve won Best Actress for the movie.

Y Movie Release

The Marathi film Y is slated for release on June 24, 2022.
