Pamela was a playback singer, film producer and writer in her own right. She sang songs for several hit films, including Kabhie Kabhie, Noorie, Kaala Patthar, Silsila, Chandni, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, and Mujhse Dosti Karoge!.

She was a also frequent collaborator with her late husband and was credited as the writer and costume designer in some of the popular YRF films. On the show, Pamela recounted on how the late filmmaker would reach out to her to understand how the female perspective works.

In a recent interview with Press Trust of India, Mukerji said it was Pamela Chopra’s influence that led Yash Chopra to write beautiful parts for women. “I truly believe it had to do a lot with Pam Aunty’s (Pamela Chopra) influence in his life that drove him to write such beautiful parts for women. I have always been in awe of how he presented his heroines on screen, and secretly always wished to be the quintessential ‘Yash Chopra heroine’,” she said.
