Meet Shantanu Maheshwari, Alia Bhatt's Co-Star In Gangubai Kathiawadi

Who is Shantanu Maheshwari: Actor-dancer Shantanu Maheshwari will make his debut in Bollywood with Alia Bhatt-starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi. He will be seen playing the role of Gangubai's love interest Ishq as the two romance in the song Jab Saiyaan.

Gangubai Kathiawadi released its song Jab Saiyaan and Meri Jaan recently and actor Alia Bhatt is seen alongside debut co-star Shantanu Maheshwari. The chemistry between the two actors is being appreciated by the audience. Introducing Shantanu Maheshwari's character Ishq, Bhatt wrote on Instagram, "Unfolding the cards of love! Bringing to you a piece of Gangu’s heart, introducing @shantanu.maheshwari #JabSaiyaan, out now."

Who is Shantanu Maheshwari?

Shantanu Maheshwari is an Indian actor, dancer, choreographer and host. He made his debut in the entertainment industry with Channel V's teen-drama show Dil Dostii Dance as Swayam. The show also featured actors Kunwar Amar, Shakti Mohan, Vrushika Mehta, Macedon D'Mello, Alisha Singh and others. He was next seen in Channel V's Girls On Top alongside actors Ayesha Adlakha, Saloni Chopra and Shruti Bapna among others.

Maheshwari was also a part of dance group Desi Hoppers which went on to win International dance show World of Dance. He was also seen in famous reality shows including Nach Baliye in which he stood fourth runner-up and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 8 in which he emerged as the winner.

At the age of 8, he also participated in dance reality show Kya Masti Kya Dhoom. In 2016, he emerged as the second runner up in reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 9. He has also featured in TV series including Yeh Hai Aashiqui, MTV Big F Season 2, Twistwala Love and Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya.

Maheshwari has also been featured in music videos like Supergirl From China, Haaye Oye and Aaja Maahi Ve.

Amassing a following of 1.4 million on Instagram, Maheshwari specialises in popping and waving among other dance styles. Shantanu Maheshwari will make his debut in Bollywood with Sanjay Leela Bhansali' Gangubai Kathiawadi as Ishq alongside Alia Bhatt. Gangubai Kathiawadi will release on February 25, 2022 in cinemas.
