Who Is Shanaya Kapoor? Another star kid Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of actor Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, has been roped in by Karan Johar!

Yes, Shanaya has officially signed with Dharma Cornerstone Agency and will soon make her Bollywood debut. The shooting of the film will begin in July 2021.

Karan Johar announces Shanaya Kapoor's debut in Bollywood

The filmmaker, Johar took to social media and revealed Shanaya will be making her acting debut with Dharma Productions. "Another beautiful addition to our growing @dcatalent family! Welcome to the #DCASquad, @shanayakapoor02. Her enthusiasm, perseverance and diligence is so amazing to see. Join us in showering your love & blessings as she begins her first film with @DharmaMovies, this July!" he confirmed.

Sharing the same video, Shanaya expressed her excitement of making a debut saying, "Woke up today with the most grateful heart! Here’s to a great journey ahead with the @dcatalent family. Sanjay Kapoor too took to Instagram and shared, "With her unabashed enthusiasm, resilience & sparkle - My daughter is all set to take over your screens soon. Give her your love & blessings as she is ready to start the journey of her FIRST FILM with @Dharmamovies this July."

Her mother, Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives star, Maheep Kapoor also shared the same video. Among her friends, daughter of Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan commented in the post with love and said, "yayy", adding a heart emoji.

Who is Shanaya Kapoor?

Before her acting career, Shanaya worked as an assistant director with her cousin Sharan Sharma in actor Janhvi Kapoor's movie Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl.

Earlier, in an interview with IANS, Shanaya said that it is her dream to be launched in Bollywood by Karan Johar. “I mean, yeah! I don’t think any actor would say no. He is family. He is talented and the most amazing director. I think I would start crying if Karan ever directs me. I would get emotional and just die,” she said. ''After being an assistant director, I realised how much work goes into making a film. I learnt so much about camera lenses, close-up shots, how you get into the character, how you shoot an angry scene, what are the things that actors do on set. All this just made me more confident of what I wanted to do,” she told the news agency.

Shanaya's father, Sanjay had previously confirmed that she was ready for her acting debut but chose to not go to an acting school. "Shanaya told me that going there (film school) would be a waste of three years and reasoned that most attend classes for three days and party for the rest of the week," Sanjay told Mumbai Mirror in 2019. She had also made an appearance in the Netflix series Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives.
