Indian cricket legend Smriti Mandhana and music composer–director Palash Muchhal are officially getting married on November 23, 2025, with pre-wedding festivities already underway. According to multiple reports, Palash received a warm and traditional welcome at Smriti’s home ahead of the ceremonies, marking the beginning of a joyous wedding celebration.
Proposal at DY Patil Stadium
Before the wedding rituals began, Palash went viral for his romantic proposal video at the DY Patil Stadium, the same venue where Smriti led India to a historic Women’s World Cup victory earlier this month.
He blindfolded Smriti, brought her to the centre of the pitch, went down on one knee and proposed. She said “yes,” and the video instantly won millions of hearts.
Smriti confirmed the engagement in a fun Instagram reel featuring her teammates dancing to “Samjho Ho Hi Gaya.” The video created a massive buzz online.
Haldi Moments Filled With Music and Laughter
The couple’s haldi ceremony took place recently, with Smriti seen in a bright yellow kurta and pants. The event was attended by her family and several Indian women’s cricket teammates like Shafali Verma, Shreyanka Patil and Radha Yadav. Videos from the ceremony showed a lively, intimate celebration with dhol and traditional decor.
When Palaash Muchhal Opened Up About Dating Smriti Mandhana
According to the Times of India, Smriti and Palash met in 2019 through mutual friends at a private gathering in Mumbai, where they bonded over shared interests in music and cricket.
Their connection began with an easy camaraderie that grew into a deep relationship, which they kept private for several years.
Palash has spoken publicly about his relationship with cricketer Smriti Mandhana for the first time.
The couple has largely kept their personal lives away from the limelight, and Palaash explained why. "I am very shy in public and an introvert. People don't believe it, as I have a lot of friends, and I've been on the stage as well. But even when I pose during events and parties, I feel very shy," he shared.

In the caption, he used the number five and a heart emoji. Smriti responded with three heart emojis, and the post also received replies from Palash’s sister, Palak Muchhal and other celebrities.
