Aamir Khan, Girlfriend Gauri Spratt Spotted Together At Macau Film Festival

Aamir Khan recently made his first public appearance with girlfriend Gauri Spratt at an event in China, and the couple’s presence quickly caught everyone’s attention. The two were seen together at the Macau International Comedy Festival on Saturday, April 12. Aamir held Gauri’s hand as they walked in, just weeks after he had introduced her to the Indian press during his 60th birthday celebrations. Both looked elegant in traditional Indian outfits. Aamir kept Gauri close throughout the evening and introduced her to several guests, including well-known Chinese actors Shen Teng and Ma Li.

On March 13, during a meet-and-greet with the media at a Mumbai hotel, Aamir introduced his long-time girlfriend, Gauri Spratt. He shared that they had been in a relationship for the past 18 months. The actor joked with the media, "Dekha kuch bhi pata nahi chalne diya maine tum logo ko (See, I did not let you get a wind of this)." But how did he manage that? Khan himself revealed it in his chat with the media. The actor said, "For one, she lives in Bangalore, or lived there till recently. So, I would fly down to meet her, and the media scrutiny is less there. So we stayed under the radar.”

Who Is Gauri Spratt?

Gauri Spratt, reportedly based in Bangalore, has been an integral part of the beauty and fashion industry for over a decade. Gauri’s professional journey began after completing her education at Blue Mountain School, followed by a fashion styling and photography course at the University of the Arts, London, from 2002 to 2004. Her expertise in styling led her to diverse roles across different ventures before she became a key player in the premium salon industry.

According to reports, Gauri has been associated with BBlunt since 2007, where she has played a major role in expanding the brand. The salon chain, which started in Mumbai, has now reportedly expanded to multiple cities, including Delhi, Bangalore, and Pune. The Mumbai branch, which she runs, is said to generate around $7 million in revenue and employ approximately 52 people.

According to her LinkedIn profile, before her involvement with BBlunt, from 2005 to 2010, she was a partner at Marmalade. She was also a partner, director, and design head at 3'C Tex Pvt Ltd between 2008 and 2011. She reportedly worked as a consulting designer and buyer at The Leather Boutique from 2012 to 2013. 

Gauri is now also working with Aamir Khan’s production house, as he reportedly confirmed at a recent event. Her association with Bollywood aligns with BBlunt’s long-standing connection with the film industry.  According to the brand’s official website, BBlunt has been instrumental in creating trendsetting looks for Bollywood celebrities and shaping some of the most iconic on-screen characters.

Founded by Adhuna and Ashoke Bhabani in 1998, BBlunt has grown into a well-known name in the beauty industry, however, initially, it started as a salon chain and later expanded into premium hair care products. 

Apart from her professional pursuits, Spratt is also a mother to a six-year-old child. Spratt has known Aamir Khan for 25 years, but they lost touch over time. They reconnected two years ago and began dating around 18 months back.

Here's Why Gauri Is Unfamiliar With Aamir's Work.

During their media interaction, one detail took many by surprise. Spratt is largely unfamiliar with Aamir Khan’s work, as she hasn't watched many Hindi films. When she was asked to name some of her favourite movies of Aamir, she admitted she hadn’t seen many. 

Aamir explained, “She grew up in Bangalore, with exposure to different kinds of films and arts, so Hindi films weren’t a big part of her viewing.” Gauri added that she had watched 'Dil Chahta Hai' and 'Lagaan', but that was years ago.

When asked if Spratt's unfamiliarity with Aamir’s work had any influence on their relationship, both agreed that it did, as she sees him 'not as a superstar, but as a partner'. Aamir shared that if there was one film he’d love for her to watch, it would be 'Taare Zameen Par'. With the film set to re-release in theatres as a part of his festival, 'Cinema Ka Jadugar', he mentioned they would try to catch it on the big screen together.

How Gauri Spratt Found Love In Aamir Khan

Reflecting on their bond, Aamir shared that he first met Gauri 25 years ago, but they lost touch before reconnecting two years ago. They had been dating since 18 months.

"I was searching for someone who brings me peace, someone I can be calm with. And there she was," he said. Gauri also opened up about what she sought in a partner and what drew her to Aamir. "I wanted someone kind, a true gentleman, and caring," she said, prompting Aamir to playfully remark, "And after all that, you found me?"

After all, the actor also admitted introducing her to his family and kids. At this, Aamir took a light-hearted jibe at the other Khans and said, "Mere ghar pe focus thoda kam hai. Aap log miss kar dete ho (The focus is not as much on my house. You guys miss things)." It's safe to say that the paparazzi's 'focus' on Aamir and his life will only be increasing from now on.

Aamir's Plans For Marriage 

The actor also revealed what prompted him to go public with the relationship now, "We are committed now, and we felt we were secure enough in each other to tell you guys. And this is better, I won't have to hide things now."

When asked about his plans for marriage, Aamir laughed and added, "See, we are fully committed. And I have been married twice. Par ab 60 saal ki umar mein shaadi shayad mujhe shobha nahi degi (Marriage at the age of 60 would not suit me)."
