Ted Lasso is an American comedy series that features Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, Phil Dunster and Brett Goldstein in pivotal roles. Jason is also the developer and executive producer of the show besides playing the title role. The lead character Ted Lasso is actually based on a character of the same name that was played by Jason in the promos of Premier League coverage by NBC Sport. The 10 episodess long season 1 of the show released in 2020 on August 14 on Apple TV and the 12 episode long season 2 released on July 24, 2021. The new season, i.e., season 3 is expected a 2022 release.

Ted Lasso is the story of an American football coach of the same name who gets hired as a coach by Rebecca Welton, the owner of AFC Richmond, an English soccer team, to instruct the group of young English men. The decision of hiring Ted was Rebecca's deliberate attempt to ruin the team in order to get back at her ex-husband. Meanwhile, Ted has the task of making a place for himself in the hearts of the feisty English men, gets along with them and develops a bond all the while struggling with his own lack of knowledge about the sport.

The series is a Ruby's Tuna Inc., Universal Television, Warner Bros Television Studios and Doozer production with music from Marcus Mumford and Tom Howe. The show got immensely popular during the pandemic owing to its comedy that comes with its own complexities.

The cast is being really secretive about the changes in characters and where the plot will be moving in the next season, saying that they too are unaware of it yet. While attending a talk show, Hannah Waddingham, actor who plays Rebecca in the series, said that the production work on the new season began by February 2022, hence making the fans expect a release in summer or fall 2022.
