Panchayat new season release was teased in the announcement video released by Amazon Prime. The new season is in the list of much awaited returns on the OTT scheduled for 2022.

Panchayat new season is all set to release on Amazon Prime in 2022. The series features Jitendra Kumar, Pooja Singh, Neena Gupta, Biswapati Sarkar, Raghubir Yadav and Chandan Roy in pivotal roles. The series is set in Phulera, a village in Uttar Pradesh that gets a panchayat secretary in the form of Abhishek Tripathi, an engineering graduate. After searching frantically for a job worth his degree and qualification but not finding one, city boy Abhishek is forced to join the panchayat in Phulera. The series features his journey as not only his job is not up to his qualifications but he also has trouble adjusting to the life of the village.

Panchayat New Season Release: Which Characters Will Return In Season 2?

Season 2 will see Jitendra Kumar reprising the role of Abhishek Tripathi and it will follows his journey after he decides to stay back in the village after not securing a good rank in CAT exam. The audience will see a new love interest for Abhishek in the form of Rinky, the daughter of Pradhan. The role will be played by Pooja Singh and in the character of her mother, the Pradhan, Manju Devi and father, Brij Bhushan Dubey, the Pradhan-Pati, we will see Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav back to the show.

We saw Neena Gupta's Manju Devi talking to the District Magistrate about learning her duties as the Pradhan. She promised that she will no longer let her husband play the role of operating Pradhan. The series is expected to feature Manju Devi's journey as the operating Pradhan and the budding romance of Abhishke and Rinky. The series will also see the return of other supporting cast from season 1 including Biswapati Sarkar as Abhishek's friend Prateek, Chandan Roy as Office Assistant Vikas and Faisal Malik as Upa-Pradhan Prahlad Pandey.

The first look of the season 2 was Twitter account of dropped on the official of Amazon Prime with the caption, "#PanchayatOnPrime: hum lauki toh nahi laaye hai par season 2 zarur lekar aaye hai". The makers have not yet announced a confirmed release date for Panchayat season 2 but it is expected to release in by mid 2022.

Panchayat Season 2 Plot:

The new season will most likely focus on Abhishek's test preparation as well as a prospective love interest in the form of Rinky, Pradhan's daughter, played by Pooja Singh. While Neena Gupta, the elected Pradhan of a village in Uttar Pradesh's Balia district, retains the seat because it was reserved for women, her husband is disqualified due to his gender. Despite the fact that she is the pradhan on paper, the entire community is content with her husband's leadership (Raghubir Yadav). As the episodes progress and the plot unfolds, Manju learns more about her role and profession. Finally, she seizes control of her position, something she has never done before throughout her reign. Season 2 will focus on Manju's job as Pradhan, as she fulfils her responsibilities and takes her own stands.
