When Barkha Singh Played Younger Kareena Kapoor In 'Mujhse Dosti Karogi'

Barkha Singh opened up about her first interview as younger Kareena Kapoor for the movie Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.

She said, "I went there (to the interview) pretty chill after school, just in an attempt to make my mother buy me ice cream on the way."Barkha Singh played the role of Tina in the film whose adult character was played by Kareena Kapoor.

Barkha Singh Was Selected Among 700 Others

The actor and Youtuber started her career as a child artist in the Hrithik Roshan starrer film in 2002. She confessed that she went for the interview for the role in an attempt to "make her mother buy her ice cream on the way".

"I went there pretty chill after school, just in an attempt to make my mother buy me ice cream on the way," she said.

She claimed that she was selected among 600 to 700 children and the process of auditioning for five rounds wasn't easy.

"I do remember giving the audition for that role and it was a tough process. There were about 600-700 kids who auditioned for the role of young Tina."

She also revealed that people still recognise her as her role in the said film and often mistake her name to be Tina. However, now she is thankful that they recognise her for her more recent work. She added that she is still sometimes referred to her as young Kareena and they even claim that her face is still the same, "although I don’t know whether to take it as a compliment," she said.

Singh reportedly re-started her acting career in her adulthood and though she returned to the industry, she did not reach out to the people she previously worked with, including Yash Raj Films.
