Veteran actor Pavan Malhotra and Punjabi star Wamiqa Gabbi will be seen together soon in an original web series titled Grahan. The trailer for the web series, slated to have an OTT release on June 24, will be released today.
Gabbi too took to her Instagram to share the teaser of the shaow and wrote, "Sach ko chaahe jitna bhi Grahan karlo, the flames of your past will only rise higher."
This project will mark Gabbi's launch in the world of OTT shows. The announcement was made through a motion poster on Gabbi’s official Instagram account. The motion poster of the series shows a car burning in the background, with a man carrying a torch standing next to it.
Grahan has been directed by filmmaker Ranjan Chandel. Apart from Gabbi and Pawan Malhotra, known for his appearance in films like Jab We Met, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and television shows Nukkad and Circus, the series also stars Mukkebaaz actor Zoya Hussain, Teekam Joshi, Sahidur Rahaman, AbhinavPateriya, Namrata Varshney, Purva Parag in various roles. The series also stars Jamtara actor Anshuman Pushkar, and is produced by JAR pictures. The show will start streaming from June 24 on Disney+Hotstar. Read who is Zoya Hussain here.
Meanwhile, Gabbi will also be soon seen in Anushka Sharma’s upcoming Netflix Series Mai with television actor Sakshi Tanwar, who is playing the lead role in the project. She is also prepping for her upcoming Punjabi film Kali Jotta. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the movie will feature Neeru Bajwa, Satinder Sartaaj and Gabbi in lead roles.
In December last year, Gabbi was in news after actor Kangana Ranaut blocked her on Twitter. Gabbi had been quite vocal in extending support to protesting farmers during last year, on the other hand Ranaut had gotten into a war of words over the same issue with another Punjabi actor- Diljit Dosanjh.
After Ranaut official handle blocked her, Gabbi tweeted, "Well, I’m glad she ‘just’ blocked me. Would have broken my heart more if she had replied the way she has replied to women in her previous other tweets. May God bless you with abundance of love in your heart."
